im placing insulation on my ceiling.
does the pink side face down at the sheetrock
or does it face the ceiling??

it sounds to me like you are in the attic and placing insulation between the joists or adding some, if this is not the case then the others are right. If you are placing new and have already bought it place the paper side against the ceiling. If you are adding, it really doesn't matter which way, cause you are supposed to be using the kind with out paper (facing)

Just so you know the facts....what you are describing is called Kraft Paper Insulation......The paper side of the insulation is a vapor barrier....you need to staple the paper to the joists down each side then overlap down each channel that you cover...One thing thou....most Kraft Insulation is either R-11 or R-13....this is a Insulation rating and usually used in walls...R-19 & R-24 is best for the attic....But whatever you use...something is better then nothing.......

you may come across a distinctive cloth then pink panther insulation, its all fiberglass and it quite might soak up any ask your self so no longer sturdy as padding. you would be way better off procuring in easy terms some medium density foam from a cloth save. slightly extra costly even though it would unquestionably paintings.
