okay.. so city A is the origin that means its at point (0,0) on a graph... City B is point ( 100, 50 ) because it is 100 miles east ( right on the graph) and 50 north ( up on the graph) ... City C is point ( -75, -150) bc 75 miles west ( left on the graph) and 150 south (down on the graph) ... so now use the distance formula to find out the distance.... formula is... the square root of .( x 2 - x1) suared plus (y2-y1) squared... orrrr w/ your problem... ( -75 - 100) spuared.. which equals 30625 ... now, ( -150 - 50) squared which equals... 40000... add 30625 + 40000 =70625.. and finally take the square root = 265.75 miles = answer !!

the answer is 201.56 because you have to draw the lines from a which will form a shape that with 2.5 lines you add you conect them you get a rectangle. with sides of 175 by 100 then you divid the rectangle with a line from b-c in the center and get 2 triangles. the distance from b-c is the longest line from b-c. to get that u use a^2+b^2=c^2 a= 100 b= 175. and thats how u get the answer
