My rabbit (male) has been shedding a lot recently. Is this supposed to happen or is he sick?

Unless he is going bald its natural. He's getting his winter coat in. You need to do some reading about rabbits I suggest the book The House Rabbit Handbook. Got to these sites and read up, your bunny will thank you.

Its perfectly normal. Rabbits shed in cycles. usually when my bunny's shedding he loses big fluffy pieces of fur at a time, I can just run my hand through his fur and come up with a whole handful of it. If you brush him several times a day, it will help with the fur getting everywhere, otherwise, just expect it to last for a couple of weeks or so.

dont worry, my rabbit has been shedding alot lately too. he is most likely molting so that he can grow his winter coat. just make sure you brush him often because if he ingests the hair he can get extremely sick.
