What are the assets of having an ipod versus a zen 30 gig?

i have had an ipod mini for two years now but, it pretty much sucks. I was thinking about getting a 30gig ipod video but Im not sure cause i hate itunes and the ipod gets really annoying so i was going to try creative's zen 30 gig. Also does the alarm system work with the zen...like does the alarm work if i plug the zen into the line out. thanx

Ipods dont last that long so if I was you I would just keep an old one as long as it works and I agree Itunes sux.
