I am going to north america tomorrow and someone mentioned to me that if i take my hair straighteners they probably wont work due to the difference in voltage, is this true?

US electricity runs at 120 volts, the UK at 230. You can buy adaptors that change the voltage so you can run your UK appliances on US electricity. They're fairly expensive, though, and outrageously expensive at the airport. But if you have a lot of appliances, it might be worth it.

yes the americans like a lot of foreign countries work on 110 volts and not 240 volts like the uk u can buy an adapter for this and they will work

yes its true but you can purchase travel adaptors to convert the voltage (also it is only 2pin plugs there so the adaptor will also counteract this prob)

ye its true. Also dont buy any cheap appliances over there to bring back coz they will blow
