It depends on what the ultrasound is being used for. If it is to date the pregnancy, an ultrasound done at around 17-20 weeks is most accurate, as after this time period, babies start growing at different rates. If it is to determine the sex, if it's a boy, it's a boy, no denying it. But sometimes, it can get confusing and the doctor may say "80 percent chance it is a girl" or whatever.

I guess it depends on what kinds of things they are looking for, but no, I dont think they are really that accurate. For example, I have known quite a few people that were told the were having a girl and had a boy. For myself it was quite inaccurate in determining the size of my baby. I went for an ultrasound at about 38 weeks and they told me my baby was already over 8 pounds and could expect it to be close to 9 when it was born. My daugter weighed 7lbs. 4oz, hardly the big baby they predicted.

well,..if your talking about if the ultrasounds accurate with telling you if your baby is a girl or boy...then not always. I was suppose to be an eight pound boy and I came out a six pound nine ounce girl lol....so nah not always but most of the time yes. They are accurate in measuring your babies growth and telling if the baby is health or not tho.

Hi. Ultrasounds measure the size of your baby to determine weight, age and health. They are about as accurate as you can get, until you actually have the child! Good luck.

It depends on what you're talking about. If you're talking about determining the sex of the baby, there are errors sometimes but they are made by the professional analyzing the ultrasound. It also depends a lot on how well the baby cooperates.

If you are talking about predicting the due date, yes they are. If you are talking about seeing if it's a girl or boy, it's up to the skill of the technician and the cooperation of the child. Sometimes they don't want to show you everything.
