Then why do you answer them? We all know that there is hate an ignorance in all parts of the world, but dont you think if you answer the racist questions, even if it is saying tat you will report them, you are in effect, giving them the power that they so desperately seek and desire?
I answer some, but i really only answer them with Do you need a hug answers. I very rarely fight because a person will believe what they want.
Unfortunately too many think that they are the best, and that everynoe else who is different is bad- one day they will figure out that everyone bleeds the same.
If you are offended- why dont you just not look at or answer the question?

I forgot to say though that most of those who are on here who post racist or sexist comments would NEVER say it in public. I know here on YA it is anonymous, so maybe they feel great that they can hide behind the screen without the chance of being caught. Either way- you can stick up for, and defend who you want, but change begins with the individual themselves. If they dont see what they are doing is wrong- nothing will ever change.

I think some people like to be offended, although they'll never admit it.
It gives them something to do.
Why do you think political correctness has gotten so outta control?
Do you really think that everyone is being honest when they answer those kinds of questions & not just saying what they think everyone want them to say?

The whole idea of this website is to answer questions. That's why it's called Yahoo! Answers. If I was going to ignore every stupid or offensive question, I would rarely answer any.

because the answer isn't for them in a public forum.... I would kick someone out of my store for harrassing my black, gay or jewish employees... so why wouldn't I publicly humiliate a bigot on the internet too?

People that are offended are idiots. Why should I care if I offend someone? Why can't I drop the N bomb in public without getting sneered at but blacks can call me a honky. At least I have a job. Peace I'm out of here.

many times ppl answer the questions because they want to not only let the person know how wrong they are, but they also want to express their opinions.
