I don't see how we could improve on sleep. I imagine we might be able to put people into a cryogenic state, long term.

Short term, I only see staving off sleep with stimulants and other drugs.

No because everyone needs sleep. We couldn't function correctly without actual sleep. No substitutions.

i wish!! Did you know that the average person spends about 23 years asleep?? I personally think that sleeping is a waste of time. But we need it to have to ability to heal an injury, to be able to function properly, and to have energy (yeah, i just finished reading all this in my health book a couple days ago...)

I think it's highly unlikely. Just as oxygen and water are essential to survival, so is sleep.

I don't think so. We need sleep to function properly. And if we
don't sleep we could die of exhaustion.
