Yankee fans are probably the most 'spoiled' fans around and rightly so I suppose. Their rich tradition demands winners and the money George pays these guys lays an extra curricular amount of pressure on them.
I am a Royals fan OK. If Yankee fans don't want him in New York, please send him to KC!
*Just an example of the 2 layers of cheese the NY fans have stuck on the A Rod Wine bottle.
At similar time points in career stats:
ARod has more home runs than Aaron
ARod has more hits than Pete Rose
The guy is on pace to break the all-time home run AND hits records and people are on him.
Yea, give A-rod and break and throw one in for the rest of us too.

i agree, hes not one of my favorite guys but hes still a big part of my favorite team. everybody lays the contract issue on him but who wouldnt have taken a contract like that if a team offered it to him. He has better numbers then he did his first year with the yankees. you cant expect over 40 home runs and over 120 rbi every single year. having 34 home runs and 116 rbi is considered an off year for him, who wouldnt want numbers like that for an off year? I love jeter dont get me wrong but he has never came close to numbers like that so i agree people need to give the guy a break and give him a chance to succeed. And he carried the yankees in the 2004 alds against the twins. He was even hot in the alcs for the first 3 games, after those games everyone went cold so you cant lay that all on him. Last year he really struggled but expect big things from him this october. Dont be surprised if hes the one holding up the World Series MVP.

Most of A-Rod's problem is because of his salary. If he made an average MLB salary, he'd be considered great, the media would lay off of him the fans would lay off of him. But because of the 25 million a year, the fans of NY expect great things.
Very Great!
Face it, he doesn't produce in October. His homeruns come when they count for nothing more than personal records. His attitude, in accordance to SI's article, proves he'll throw anyone under the bus, given a chance.
If A-Rod doesn't help bring home #27 to NY come playoffs, I doubt highly that Cashman and Steinbrenner will continue to be so forgiving. I will not boo him, but I find it becoming harder and harder to defend him to Yankee haters.
I would very much like to see A-Rod successful. The team depends on him, but when last years MVP is now a mental basket case and the weakest batter in the line-up, you can't help but wonder, does he really help the team?

I'm a huge yankee fan and you're right A-Rod is batting .284 with 34 homeruns, 117 rbi's, 109 runs scored and 15 stolen bases. I would like to see anyone put up those kind of numbers anywhere and still get booed. Those are ridiculous numbers and to say he is having a bad year is stupid and people should lay off.

Why should they? (not a Yanks fan) After all the Yankees are pounded down our throats ALL season cuz Steinbrenner has more money that GOD so they get the air time!! Besides when you make that amount of money, there is no reason for a slump or maybe he's OVERPAID!! Gee what a thought!!

This question would have been more appropriate 3 months ago.
For A-Rod: It's time to stop talking and start playing.
For Fans: It's time to stop complaining and LET him play.
But this is old news... Anyone who doesn't like A-Rod now will probably never (truly) like him as a person or a baseball player.
