Before you do anything- go rent The Burning Bed... great movie (for those of you have seen it... sing it with me "Burn Mutha F'er, Burn")
Anyway, I am very sorry to hear about your situation. If you have any extended family, be sure to make them aware of what is going on... before he gets out.
You should also be able to ask that a restraining order is put into place upon his release.
To be honest with you, that crap doesn't really work, police reports, judges, restraining order, etc, BUT you should do it all anyway.
Finally, there are groups that help relocate woman who have been abused by their partners. They can help relocate you and get you help with your expenses. Or you could pull a Julia Robert's in Sleeping With the Enemy...
Last but not least, why in the world did you wait until he was getting out to leave town? You should have been long gone by now!
Good Luck

I hope that you can find away to get away my aunt was killed by her husband 3 years ago and she left behind a 13 year old girl. I wish that we knew more about what was going on at home with her . Talk to the cops and call around to see if a abuse counselor can help in any way I wish you all the best.

Too bad the police will not get involved. Try to escape; go live somewhere else. And make sure he never finds you.
The police will not get involved because they don't intervene in between a man and his wife. Whatever the man wants to do to you, he can. And if you kill him before he kills you, there's a chance you will get convictions worse than serial killers and rapists.
I watched a video on Abusive relationships and it's sad to think that people like you will be victims of a flaw in our government.
Good luck.

If you know that he is getting out of prison, you need to first contact the local State parolee board right away. Present any evidence that may insinuate that he might try and kill you and submit it to your local authorities and the State parol board. further more you can also contact the prosecuting District Attorney before he gets out they can add charges to his sentence served and he will wind up staying there in prison.

First my heart goes out to the whole family, next talk to the wife of the husband, there are victims rights out there and they must contact the wife before he gets out and they also give information about resoucre help. I can tell that you are concerned about the whole family and that is great, you can call the DA of your state and they can help. Call the police, and you can go the any Domestic violence shelter and you can all them they will help your family. God Bless you all, I will pray for the family...

Contact the police about your concerns. You could consider a secure refuge shelter for you and your family- normally for victims of domestic violence but I can imagine that you might be applicable.
I hope you stay safe.
