Well, about 1 person in 20 or so will take advantage of the opportunity to hurt you just for the fun of it. Since we all know more than 20 people, we all know more than 1 person who will do that to us. After years of painful lessons learned, we become accustomed to hiding our vulnerabilities and putting on a facade of impenetrability. This is why people seem false. Most people aren't out to hurt you, but they don't know that you're not out to hurt them. As time goes by, relationships develop, and people recognize what parts of their lives they don't have to hide, they open up in those areas, and voila..sincerity is born.

People don't realise how far apart we are, even when we are physically close, our minds can be miles apart, a person might believe they are coming across as sincere but in fact they are being the opposite. You too will be guilty of this at times.
