I mean why is it that we get to have computers and clothes. When they don't. It is not fair. I mean some people don't even have food for heavens sake. I say we give them what they need and what they want for a change. I think it would mean alot to the president and to the whole country. Realize that they are humans like us who didn't necessarily create their own condition. Wake up! Understand that Capitalism...laissez Faire style, leaves people behind, so vote to change this system. If you are making 60,000+ for a family of 3 or 4, you are making more than enough. Beyond that, greed is at work. Agree to pay higher taxes and live in smaller homes, drive smaller cars, and buy less "stuff." Life will be more rewarding in the long run. And will work for all of us.

How about take money from celebrities and give it to the poor. No one deserves their own "private jet" or "island" period!
nerdyhermione, unfortunately voting democrat is not the answer. The democrats are just as corrupt as the republicans. The best hope for this country is the elimination of the two-party system. Unfortunately, it will take at least another decade or more before the minds of the average Americans evolve enough to understand this.

I say let them get their own jobs and pay for their own stuff. if you want to give up your hard earned cash to help someone that won't help themselves that's fine but please don't make it a "we" thing. I already pay enough taxes to help welfare mothers, and the like. You try to help them and "we" will se ehow you feel when your donations are spent at the liquor store. They are poor by choice...everyone can get a job nowadays even if it washing dishes, it might not be a job you like but they can work...they just don't. Hence hey are poor because they want to be.
How can you educate someone that dropped out of schol in the first place becaused they were too lazy to do the work

Most poor are that way because they won't work. Some are uneducated for several reasons, some because they wouldn't listen to the teachers. They choose to be poor. They don't want more than they have.
They know that they don't have to do anything, because people like you will vote for the government to give them things. Then they laugh about how stupid we are.
I know because I have family members like that.

why would you give them money, so they can by alcohol? just donate things to a local shelter. if they want help (because not everybody does) they can go there to get food, shelter, and clothing. we get clothes and computers because we have money to buy them, they don't have computers because they can't buy them, and why would they if they don't have a house? i think it's ridiculous when people go out and buy $60 t-shirts when the money can be better spent. you should just donate things you no longer use to a shelter. they would probably accept anything. so donate something to a shelter if you want to help them, or stop by a McDonald's or something and give them food. just don't give them money.

Is sad, isn't it...but there is not a big thing you can do for them, any kind of help will just last for a while.
The best you can do is helping their kids so they don have to live the same way. If they have access to education and health care they may probably improve the quality of life in the next generation.

Give them a copy of the want ads for starters..... I have no tolerance for under educated people who have kids then cry they cant afford to support themselves and the kids....noone plans to fail but a lot of people fail to plan.

I thimk that the government should have no cost programs so they can learn a skill to feed themselves. there's an old saying that if you give a man a fish---he can eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish----he can eat for the rest of his life.
