I recently had a 24hour bug that caused nausea and diarreah. It wasn't morning sickness as I have been experiencing that too. I lost so much weight due to this bug and felt so dehydrated but now feel better. Can this affect my unborn baby? I am 9 weeks pregnant. The virus also included sharp stabbing pains to the stomach, a virus I've had before pregnancy.

Hi. I am 13 weeks, and had severe morning sickness which included dehydration (for about 5 days) and vomiting 3-4 times a day, and I could not keep anything down at all. Now I am much better, but I had the same thoughts. My doctor told me that the baby is protected from those aliments, so I hopefully this is the same for a virus like you have. Just in case, and for a sense of reassurance, you should probably just call your Dr. and ask. Good luck, and I hope you feel better.

You should make sure you are drinking a lot of water. The dehydration can hurt the baby. Definitely see your ob asap. But, I had a bug when I was about 20 weeks pregnant and my daughter is now a healthy 3 month old. Water water water. oh, and ob of course.

It is unlikely. Its amazing what a fetus can endure from it's mother. Common viruses are not passed from mother to fetus. Your baby will not catch the stomach flu or cold from you. These are airborne illnesses.
