Here's 3 Great films I would recommend:
Donnie Darko: Set in 1988, the movie is a psychological thriller/science fiction film about the bright but troubled teenager Donnie Darko, who, after narrowly escaping death, has repeating visions of an eerie 6-foot tall anthropomorphic rabbit named Frank who tells him that the world will end in 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, and 12 seconds.
Memento: Memento follows Leonard , whose head trauma has given him anterograde amnesia, or "anterograde memory dysfunction". While able to remember everything up to the moment of the injury, Leonard is unable to form new long-term memories, or retain a memory of recent happenings. He continually meets people over and over again, unable to determine whether he knows them already or is meeting them for the first time. To remember events and people, Leonard develops a system using Polaroid photographs, notes, and tattoos — especially clues to the identity of one of the men who raped and murdered his wife, and the assailant who struck the blow that caused Leonard's condition when he stumbled in on the crime.
The Usual Suspects: Roger "Verbal" Kint (Spacey), a small-time con man, is in a police interrogation, and tells his interrogator, Agent Kujan (Palminteri), a convoluted story about events leading to a massacre and massive fire that have just taken place on a ship docked at Los Angeles. Using flashback and narration, Verbal's story becomes increasingly complex as he tries to explain, to Kujan's satisfaction, why he and his partners-in-crime were on that boat.

V for Vendetta. It takes place in the near future, like 10-20 years. It's about a dictator government who rules over London. A mysterious man named "V" destroys his plots and risks his life to fight for the people.
The Fast and the Furious: tokyo drift, a 17 year old is sent to live with his father in the military overseas in tokyo japan after continuously street racing and getting into accidents. While here, he gets involved with a new crowd who puts his life on the line countless times. He then must deal with his decisions and save the people he cares about.
Sin City: a black and white and color movie from Marvel that is about a man who is being framed for the murder of people he knows by someone who is smarter and faster than he can imagine. he must protect all that he loved in the past by putting his life on the line. personally one of my favorite action movies of all time.
Annapolis: this is about a new navy recruit going through the naval academy who faces tough training and even tougher teachers. along the way, he meets new people who give him a better insight on his life.

For Drama I like In her Shoes it is very sad and a complicated story line with a lot of Psychological struggles...
Action; Hostage and Unleashed are good movies, lots of punches and the story line is worth watching... I recently saw North Country and was inspired by true events it was well act and makes you think twice how much we have progress over the years.. Family Movie... Dreamer.. it was very sweet and a lesson in Communication.. Good Luck there are not that many movies out worth watching....

running scared is realllllllllllly good it is action with paul walker.
Yahoo said this description... For over a decade Joey Gazelle has successfully juggled his conflicting roles as both loving family man and a low-level employee of the Italian Perello mob in Grimley, New Jersey. However, when Joey ignores the mob's explicit instructions to dispose of a gun used in the fatal shooting of a corrupt cop during a bungled drug buy, he unwittingly puts his entire family in immediate danger.
basically he is in the mob and is suppost to get rid of a gun that killed a dirty cop. his son's friend takes the gun and him and his son go hunting for it, and the kid. soooo good and it's action/adventure, drama, thriller and crime/gangster.
**bonus you see paul walker's hot butt!!
