Hey guys, just to chip in a few pointers here, great going surfer girl, a German submarine sank the Lusitania (she was an American Liner sailing in British (enemy) waters.

America declared war against the Central Powers and the arrival of 150,000 doughboys help turn the tide of battle since all sides were already severely depleted in men from all the countless charges on no man's land.

What do the troops do, they fortify their trenches everyday and try to outflank the enemy by digging more, hence the trenches actually reached the French coastlines.

They drink tea, smoke and gamble, cleans their weapons, gets sent out for probing missions to check for enemy weaknesses and wait for the whistle to blow to start their death charge.

"The Ottamen Empire and Romania joined them to and they became the Central Powers during the war."

I believe it was "Ottoman" Empire and "Bulgaria," not Romania.

"...and soon defeated the Central Powers, but, however, at great cost."

Not true. First off, only 15,000 Americans shed their precious blood during WWI, compared to Britain and France's hundreds of thousands, Germany's 1 million, and the Russian empire's some ten million casualties.

"(yes they had U-Boats during ww1)"

They had more than that. They had Zep airships, Mk I tanks, flamethrowers, rapid-fire rifles, chem weapons, the first effective machine guns, etc. (They still used old-fashioned cavalry and chariots though, like the Russian tachanka, which was basically a horse-drawn wagon mounted with a rear-pointing MG). Also, note that the submarine was not invented during WWI. In the US Revolutionary War the used the Turtle, which was an earliest form of combat submarine.

In 1914, Serbia assasinated the president of Austria/Hungary. In response, Austria/Hungary declared war on Serbia. At the time, Russia had signed a contract with Serbia to protect it. Thus Russia entered the war. The same thing happened with Germany. They didn't start the war,Austria/Hungary did. German had a contract with Austria/Hungary so they teamed up with them. The Ottamen Empire and Romania joined them to and they became the Central Powers during the war. Britian joined Serbia and Russia and so did France. When Germany heard about France joining the war, they got mad and invaded Belgium in order to reach France. (france was on the other side of Belguim) Then the U.S joined the war in 1916 because a british merchant ship carrying american sailors was sunk by a German U-Boat(yes they had U-Boats during ww1). The war was usually based in trench warfare. They defended and liberated France, Belguim, and soon defeated the Central Powers, but, however, at great cost. Thanks to the United States, Europe was liberated from war and tyrrany, but not for long(ww2)

They were sent out on sucicidal attacks against entrenched enemy positions defende by bard wires & cross-firing machine guns.

To put it bluntly, the soldiers, especially the infantry & the cavalry were sent to the slaughter for a few feet of ground.

Why? The leading strategists of the time believed that the infantry is the queen of the battlefiled despite advancement in technology that made infantry attacks without armour support suicidal.
