(or someone you thought was a friend!) Today i lost a friend of 22yrs over something very silly on her part.

She borrowed money to buy drugs...paid it back late because she couldnt explain to her husband what she needed the money for (he is anti drugs). Apparently after 22yrs i dont have a right to state that its not ok to pay money back late....especially when it means me missing work so i can pay money owed to school for my kids music lessons & pay money into the bank. All this said in a nice 'come on mate, bit cross but ill see you later xx' way....i am Mrs Peacefull..

Reading these answers I'm thinking that you CAN'T PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET. Its too much to expect one person to be there constantly for you. We are all human. That goes for relationships too.
I like what people have said about a friendship being a two way street.
I had a friend who would not be there when I needed his presence to let me in somewhere or drive somewhere when we had arranged it. He would screw me when he absolutely had to be there. Had to pull some demeaning stuff to get the job done 'grovelling tears etc'. I was dependable when he needed it.
Another friend always undermined me. Whenever I saw him I ended up feeling worse about myself.
Life is too short to be around people who don't respect you and act out on their issues with you. I will only be with people who care for me, can tell me the truth yes but will do it from a caring place. Haven't had a bad experience in years.

Someone whom I thought was my friend was a two faced B*tch all along. The "B" told everyone that I was a sl*t because I remarried after being in an abusive marriage for five years. I was divorced before I started my present relationship. She believes that I shouldve stuck with it, because it is "For better or for worst". Well not in my book, my mother didnt give birth to me so my ex-husband could kick the **** outta me!!!

she promised never to let anyone or anything get in the way of our friendship. she started to get on a depression pill i think its zoloft i don't remember and she got worse. at that time she had made a new bf starting smoking and stopped talking to me. she changed and we got into many fights, she never bothered to talk to me much when she was on the anti-depressant. while i had eco-li n almost died she was making outwith her bf and our friendship was hanging on by a thread. when she got off zoloft the months of fighting were over and we were friends again..but then she moved. so really she never did anything bad, but i was treated like an enemy.

hmm.. a high school friend and i were to be bridesmaids for another hs friend's wedding. we had to fly across country together, find dresses together, etc. she ended up trying to knife me in the back regarding the dresses, and when i brought it up to her, she didn't wanna talk about it..!! and she ended up dropping out as a bridesmaid, citing stupid excuses!! and THEN she went to visit her bf in east coast 2 times (one of the excuses was no money, the liar!), and she ended up missing the wedding herself!! later at another reception taking place in california, i said hi but didn't sit with her. i came home to get an email saying "never speak to me again, if u email me i'll delete ur emails, i can't believe what kind of person u are, i'm so disappointed in you"....???? i think she is crazy. needless to say we do not speak to each other anymore. i hate stupid people >P

One I lost because she was screwing my man. I guess I should say also that I got rid of him also. One I lost because I figured out she wasn't really much of a friend in the first place. she was very selfish, I was always there for her. If it was just to talk about her husband, kids or her period. One day I realized that she was never there for me. So, so much for that. Adois. I was wasting my time.

The worst thing a friend has ever done to me was to sleep with my husband. Not once but many times over the course of 5yrs.

i had a friend who was my friend but I could tell she always had something against me (maybe jealous, not sure). Well, she asked me to write a letter for her to a guy whom she had a crush on because she had bad handwriting. I stupidly did but didn't sign it expecting her to sign it on her own. the next day she signed it and showed it to everyone. I was so embarrassed, but it turned out good. Cuz in revenge, I went out with the guy who actually had a crush on me. After that we both weren't good friends but just friends

My friend Grassed me up to the old bill for not shaving. And so did my husband. I got sent to prison for 6 months, HORRIBLE PLACE, i was sent down the block for 2 weeks, and put on rations. cause i still refused to shave, they had to put me in restraints in the end... i'll never forget it.. the fokers.

I was going to eat lunch with my best friend and turns out my best friend did not stay with me but went away with another new friend. After that happened my best friend has not talked to me and I don't know why. I think my best friend dumped me, I'm sad about it we've been friends for 9 years and we did everything together.
