What was the worst time you ever got stuck without credit on your mobile phone?

My phone is on contract so I don't have such a problem, though it's a real bugger knowing that someone would love to reply to my message when they are on pre-pay but have run out of credit.
I'm so glad I have ESP and don't need a phone to hear their reply...xxx
