I am have an interview for an internship in accounting. The choices are cost accounting, inventory, and accounts payable. Can someone with accounting experience elaborate a little on these and give your opinion on which is most appealing?

I did A/P for many years. It is tedious to the point of making you want to scream. It mostly involves data entry.

You must have a high tolerance for people not doing their job and having it effect yours, i.e. lack of P.O. numbers and signing managers not signing in a timely fashion.

There is no sense of accomplishment in this position, as you are never finished. The bills will come in daily. If it is a large company there will be a large amount of invoices to process. Some days no matter how fast you enter them the pile in your in box is bigger at the end of the day than it was at beginning.

I found this to be a singularly frustrating position.
