Probably not yet. Most doctors will wait 1-2 weeks after your due date (provided there is no trouble with you or baby) before inducing labor. If you are not dialating yet then that says your body and the baby are not quite ready yet.

Also, the chance of a succesful induction goes way down if your body is not at a certain stage in effacement and dialation. So I wouldnt force the issue with your doctor unless you want 30+ hours of labor. Though any good doctor won't let you force the issue.

most good doctors will wait abit and if it looks like you are two weeks over due and they have checked that they have not miscaluculated the due date then they will induce labor. I know it seems like you have been pregnant forever and can't wait to get it over with but most babys will come when they are ready so be patient and this time next month you won't even remember what you felt like now. Congrats on the new baby and all the best Deb

I am due Saturday and last time I was checked I was not dialated yet either. I was induced during my last pregnancy and can feel it being the same this time. (Last time I had preeclampsia so they had to get the baby out on time and I was a few centimeters dialated when they did it). They will probably let you go another week or 2 depending on the size of the baby and your health. FYI they did give me pitocin to bring on stronger contractions, but did not notice any additional pain after they did this?

Most of the time they will not induce labor unless something is wrong. They will let you go, usually up to two weeks past your due date(this depends on your doctor and yours and the baby's health). Due dates or estimated due dates as they are truly called, are just that an estimate. Just because you are due on a certain day doesn't mean that you will deliver on that day. Congratulations!!!

Not unless you are having complications. Some doctors are quicker to induce than others. My doctor was going to make me wait until a week after my due date but last minute I was diagnosed with preeclampsia so they induced me. Good luck, I know how that waiting game is!

Induction is a slippery slope. The medical doctors with a bit of luck have an extremely stable reason, because of the fact remember you may think of you're 37 weeks, yet you are going to be 39 or 35 because of the funky way due dates are desperate with the female's cycle. toddlers born at 35 weeks have slightly a respiration subject, not something too extreme, jaundice, and sucking themes. So the toddler could not have the means to latch on, the toddler may additionally could stay interior the well being facility each week or so counting on how they do whilst they get to the actual international. As for the adaptation for you, induction reasons the prefer for pictocin, and that's the guy made drug that starts hard artwork. the subject is that it extremely is lots greater useful than the organic drug that starts hard artwork. What I propose is a common transport could have basic contractions for 8-10 hours that truly prepare your physique for a organic start. With the pictocin it hits your uterus complicated and forces contractions that are greater effectual and consequently painful than a organic contraction. upload that to the actuality that for the period of the experience that your physique isn't waiting for start, it only isn't waiting and the pictocin could fail. there are a number of greater c-sections executed from failed inductions than from issues simply by organic transport. in case you do get brought on and function a organic start you will could spend approximately 40 8 hours interior the well being facility, yet as i reported till now, your toddler could could be there for each week. in the event that they could be taken with the help of C-section you will could spend as much as 4 days interior the well being facility, counting on any issues. Oh, and my well being care expert likes to commence the pictocin drip at his place of work and then pass the affected person around the line to the well being facility whilst they're greater suitable than 4 cm dilated. only so which you be attentive to :) stable luck!

You really dont want to induce your labor. The labor will be much worse. I remember an old lady once telling me "the apple will fall from the tree when it is ready" and I so believe it.

Unless you have a medical problem where the baby needs to come out tomorrow, otherwise, you will not be induced. It is common for the baby to arrive after their due date.

probably not they say 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after the due date is when you will have the baby so you get to wait 2 weeks unless you go into labor on your own before that
