The season 3 premiere is airing on October 4 in the states, and there will be a few more episodes after that before they take a two month break and start again in January.
UK stations only like starting to show a season once they know they can show a new episode every week (in the US they show re-runs if the next episode isn't ready yet).
But the Lost producers have decided to have a new episode every week from January to May, so it's possible it might start up again on Channel 4 as early as January.

I'm in the UK and I want to know this too, there was no mention of it when the last episode of Season 2 finished on Tuesday night :(

it will be starting in the US on 4th Oct. I hope though that the UK will not be following far behind. I am so anxious to find out what is going to happen......if we have to wait, I might just download them of the internet or something.
I am going to email channel 4 and beg them to let us know!
