Somthn to listen to with the guys on the way to the lake, somthin to listen too while plowin my field, somthin to listen too while huntin. Not too many of the depressing country songs on the album. Slaid Cleaves - Broke Down a bit depressing but in a really nice way...or Jim White - No Such Place - a bit less traditional, and some good sing along ones like 'god was drunk when he made me'! oh and Billy Bragg and Wilco's Mermaid Avenue album where they put the music to unreleased Woodie Guthrie Lyrics.

God I'm glad there are some people who actually appreciate country!...all I seem to hear is people referencing it, as 'the only type of music they don't like'...that's because there is a load of cr*p country out there and it gives the good stuff a bad name!

Try Van Zant. Good old Southern Rock mixed with Country. They are two of the former band members of Lynard Skynard.
