First off let me say i'm sorry for your loss and I wish you every success in having a baby sometime in the near future.
my sister in law had a miscarriage and the hormone levels can still show as pregnant for 6 weeks after your miscarriage, I think it may say this in the instructions for use of a pregnancy test on some of the more expensive brands but maybe not.
However my sister in law was still bleeding 8 weeks after miscarrying and she had not had a sonogram either and dr's said it may of been that she was having twins and the other 1 miscarried 2. Eventually due to not stopping bleeding she was sent for a scan and they concluded there was infection and she was given anti-biotics and all appears fine now.
In short after 6 weeks if your body is not back to normal I think you should see a your doctor and tell him/her you were not given a sonogram afterwards and you are worried all is not right.

the first test was probably still showing + because your HGC levels were still up from just loosing the baby. The next test your levels were probably back down to around normal, and showed a -. You should be okay, as long as you are not cramping, bleeding, and depending on how far along you were. If you were very far along, they won't do a DNC because the uterus might be to thin, and could cause damage. I would trust what your DR says, and wait. Good luck, you can have children after a miscarriage... I have had 4 and now have 2 wonderful kids

If a pregnancy test is performed within a month or two of a recent birth or miscarriage, it is possible to test positive for pregnancy since hCG may still be detected in a woman's urine.
An incomplete miscarriage or missed abortion may require the removal of the fetus and placenta by a D&C (dilatation and curettage).
It is recommended to have at least one period before getting pregnant again. It is possible to conceive just two weeks after a miscarriage.

I have had two miscarriages and I would get a second opinion. Cause you may need a D&C. And you should wait at least six months to a year to get pregnant again. it is hard but it is better to be safe than sorry. a friend had the same problem and now she can't have anymore kids. A pregnancy test is'nt always acurate. if you can afford it get checked out again. just to set your mind at ease.

the same thing that happened to you happened to me. i also showed a positive pregynancy test after my miscarriage. i also had all of the other pregnancy symptoms you should though wait at least six weeks though before you try to have another baby before that you are prone to get infections or other problems with your body. anyway good luck to you and i hope that i helped a little bit.

You'll have to wait a couple of months for the pregnancy harmone to leave your body. After the miscarriage you still have the harmone. You can probably start trying again after like 3 months I believe.

I don't know what it's like now but it used to be if you miscarried you had to have something called a "d and c"--or some kind of treatment to make sure everything is cleaned out down there. Also there is generally a waiting period for healing before trying to conceive again. This is not only for your own health but the health of any future foetus.

you need to have an ultrasound done to make sure all the tissue is out. I would call your doctor and suggest that you have an ultrasound to make sure everything has cleared out of your uterus. but if you have no cramping and the bleeding has stopped you should be OK. Just wait to try again until you have a perfectly normal period. good luck Hun and sorry for your loss.

did they do a D+C, the test could show pos. 2 or 3 weeks after, it only tests for a chemical that is produced when you are pregnant, you can get a pos. when your on the pill or after you have had a baby full term, don`t worry, you will be fine.
