Everyday, I get pop-up windows that advertise free items like laptop PC's, Apple iPods, etc. You click the window and then you are led to fill out a bunch of info and then supposedly for your input, you are sent a free expensive prize. I smell a big ole scam here. What do you say and did you ever "win" anything from these pop-ups? I usually just click the X but sometimes they don't give up and keep flashing for my attention. I even have the pop-up blocker on in the browser

You can save yourself a lot of trouble by getting Site Advisor.
This little gadget will let you know when you're on a not-trustworthy site. Do this and have peace of mind. I have it since they started, its now owned by Mc Afee.

yep.

Most of the offer pop ups are legit. You give them your email and zipcode or something like that and you get some free stuff. If you reply to a few of their offers, you can get iPods, plasma TVs, ringtones, all kinds of stuff.

There are huge offer networks that pay people to collect name, email, zip, etc. online. They get paid when you fill out the info. Some of the sites share the profits with you (incentivized offers its called).
