The Martha Stewart Halloween Magazine has a lot of suggestions for decorations; check it out! her Halloween mags have always had a lot of cool suggestions - she is really big into the season & enjoys the whole party thing. You can get a lot of ideas there! Since you have the closet empty - was thinking - if you could put a faked-together plywood bookcase in front of it on wheels, someone hiding in the closet could slide it aside, leap out & scare folks pretty easily! Another thing they do at Busch Gardens that is very effective; get a stack of wooden packing crates but leave the back open or cut a trap door so a person can get up inside the boxes. Fix it so the top will drop open suddenly, or a window can be slid back very quickly & the person inside can just yell at whomever walks by. I've seen people practically leap out of their skins at that!!!! Good luck - it all sounds like a lot of fun!

You can put a sheet rolled up at the top to look like a ghost and tie it to a string pully system. Then pul the string and the ghost will swoop down and scare people.
