I had a lot of trouble with calculus, and I had about 15 'I"'s or Incompletes, same as a "W," and I had the worst grades of any graduate in the history of the University of Texas, so I really feel for you. For sure, you'll need to watch the deadline on withdrawing from the class. Recommendations: Better diet to clean your bloodstream, some meditation for your head, no dope, no alcohol, good lifestyle. Make it easier to learn. Surf the internet for free calculus tutorials. Google calculus terms. Go to the math lab if you have one & make friends to learn with. Buddy up with someone who understands it better than you & teach them some of what you know. Google how calculus and advanced mathematics are used later in college and life and suck it all in with a bit of excitement. Really get it that both the knowledge and the grade are very important. They translate to money and time later. Bad grades kept me out of the field of work I wanted to be in for 25 years, and cost me positional differences between CEO and staff accounting. Right?

Sorry to say this, but your best bet is to stick with it this term and take it over again in the spring. I'm assuming it's req'd, so you have to get at least a C, right? And you need to take one more sem after that, right? Well, if you get a D or F, you don't get credit. And in order to "get" the next semester of math, not to mention some of the science classes, you need to "get" what's taught in this class. So take it once, fail it, and take it again. Then in the fall take the 102 or 112, whatever is the class number for the next level, and you'll get a better grade then too. Most colleges will let you replace a grade in a class if you fail, then take it over and get a better grade, so you really don't lose much but your tuition and time for the class the 1st time around. Sounds like medieval torture, but it's really the best way to go...

You could stay in the class and try to get the best grade that you can or try a tutor even an online tutor--there are websites that help with calculus. If you do decide to drop the class though, there is a time limit with which to do so but it might also buy you time to go through the book before retaking the class. Either way the decision remains yours. Good luck with which ever decision you decide to go with.

I would talk to the professor or your advisor before you drop the class. They would be best suited to know if you can get tutoring or other help to get a passing grade. They will also know the deadline for withdrawing from a class. Good luck!

I would say try to stick it out. Whatever you know now, will be stuff you would have to learn all over again if you try to pick the class up later. Most colleges offer tutor assistance programs to help you out. If you aren't sure how to go about it, I would definitely voice your concerns to your professor. I am sure he/she would be able to give you a little more input.

stay in the class. ask as many questions as possible, even if people look at you for asking alot. you dont learn if you dont ask questions. i have found out that when you ask questions, you understand things better. I am in high school and it has trmendously helped. GOOD LUCK!!!

The problem is there is a cutoff date to get that "W".
I would and see if you can crash some tutoring classes there

It is better to get a W than an F. If you don't feel you can pull your grade out of the shitter then pull out.
