I play the Giuoco Piano (C50) when I can, both as white and black. It goes 1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 Nc6 3 Bc4 Bc5. Sometimes I go for the Scotch game (C45). This goes 1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 Nc6 3 d4 exd4 4 Nxd4. I play exchange against the French Defense and against the Sicilian, I don't really know what to do.

I like the Ruy Lopez or Queen's Gambit. With the QG, novices will pick off the free pawn, letting you gain control of the center with an eventual e2-e4 push. (I know Queen's Gambit Accepted is a std openning, but beginners do not know how to play it well)
I want to learn to play the Sicilian Defense as Black, but I have not had time to learn it. (I hate playing someone who can play it well...)

As a surgeon specializing in heart bypass operations, I find opening chessts quite routine and even a tad boring, so I liven things up by dropping acid an hour before I go into theatre.

Good grief, he's asking what opening you like and does it work for you.

Wasn't that a rather poor musical by Tim Rice and those two blokes out of ABBA?
In which case, the opening is "Merano"!
