The cable on the right has tension of 360 N and makes an angle (#1 unknown) with the ceiling. The cable on the left has tension 490 N and makes an angle (#2 unknown) with the ceiling.

What is the angle (#1 on the right) that the cable makes with respect to the ceiling (answer in degrees).

What is the angle (#2 on the left) that the cable makes with respect to the celing (answer in degrees).

Find the vertical components of the tensions in the cables.

Fy1 = 490 sin(A1)
Fy2 = 360 sin(A2)

Fy1 + Fy2 = 602

Fx1 = 490 cos(A1)
Fx2 = 360 cos(A2)

Fx1 = Fx2

490 cos(A1) = 360 cos(A2)

You now have two equations and two unknowns. Solve them.

Hint: Square each equation, it will generate sin^2 + cos^2
