In SA there are to many stupid lawmakers who have no idea as how to handle the situation in this country. Unions are only interested in their own money making and so helping and stimulating the stupid idea of BEE and affirmative actions. It has cost (and still) the industry millions of millions including government departments. In the early stages of affirmative action and BEE it has been in the 20 to 30 million a month just within one industry sector never mind the others. It was only a matter of who you know and how to get into the back door. As the bank and insurance industry has been hit right in the beginning including semi government companies, this sectors had the greatest loss of all. As for the black population in SA, unfortunately for the ones with real brain and skills have been left out and still suffering under the bad name of BEE and affirmative actions. As everyone knows, a politician is a politician be course of not being able at all to think logical which can bee seen all over the world not only SA.
It should be on a knowledge base and not race, gender and color as this is in according to the Constitution of SA illegal and against the human rights and has really only one proofed fact and this is racism against each other however you are and what ever you are. Its actually a nice way to keep racism up and going for a long time to come.

I would like to think that all men and women are basically equal and have individual qualities that if marshaled correctly would benefit any enterprise.
If this is the case then you would think that in a population of 10 percent white and 80 percent black it would be unlikely that a small firm of say five people would not employ non whites. It would be reasonable to think that you would find it hard to find a workplace which is all white. This does not seem to be the case therefore you have a racist system trying to be rebalanced by legal means.
It is true that this is unfair to the talented white-man in the short term but if you do not get the black man in the work force you are not marshaling that workforce and therefore you will end up with a mass of unemployable people who will either be held in check by force and will eventually revolt or you will keep happy by welfare bringing the economy to its knees. The best case scenario is to employ the best of the under educated bring them up to speed and thereby reduce the mass of unemployable. Only by allowing the blacks to reach their full potential will you have a decent future. So it is not racist if it benefits both sides. But it is racist when you pick sides.

It's not racist or contradictory. America did the same thing with Affirmitive action. That was their only way of actually saying...Oops we're sorry we messed up your lives for so long and here is a way we can repay you that doesn't outright involve money. But, as you may well have noticed...as soon as the non equals were back on their feet and were enjoying the same jobs, schooling and benifits as everyone else the Affirmitive action has all but stopped. Except for a few white people wanting to go to historicly black schools. So, as soon as SA gets to where everyone is at least outwordly equal the Affirmitive action will cease or at least greatly decline.

A similar thing happens in the UK. Although im not sure if its law?? It is a bit odd because at the end of the day your either good enough for the job or not despite colour etc. However SA does have a bit of a bad record for racism and so it may have been a quick fix from the government to try and look like they were doing something.
I think most people regardless of colour would rather get their job on merit???

White south Africans equipped south africa to a element the place that's the main superior u . s . in south africa, the consistent with capita of SA is 4000+ as adversarial to different african international places that have under 4 hundred, the place ever the white human beings went the locals benifited, they equipped useful agencies and infrastructure in SA, if each and all of the whites bypass away SA now, SA will become like different african international places very promptly, the black human beings there dont have the journey and awareness to run the agencies and farms.

Unfortunately, the previous political dispensation (apartheid) had caused unsurmontable damage - socio/economical.
BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) is merely trying to redress the inequities in business and form a firm middle class Black community in SA.
Previously,Blacks were exploited and were instrumental in the successes of all the corporates but not adequately rewarded.
Furthermore there were job reservations and non whites could not get into jobs that they were qualified in.

It sounds contradictory on the surface, but consider ; if the population is more than 90 % non-white, but the majority of businesses are owned by whites, then perhaps such a law is necessary to ensure non-whites can get real jobs? after so many years of living off the hardship of peoples of other colour, perhaps whites should be willing to spend as much time making up for it by taking a few such laws in stride. It's not as if they've made it illegal for whites to get a job, though I seem to recall they same law passed in reverse. Coming from Canada, it is very difficult for me to be sympathetic to your plight. Yes, on paper it is contradictory, but it is necessary to contradict some of the mindsets hundreds of years of abjection have bred into your country, into peoples of all colour there.

I am white living in America. It's called "affirmative action" here. Although in principle, I do not agree with it, I find it's a necessity for equality. There is still plenty of racism in the States and until racism disappears, then laws like this will be needed

The Dutch and the British implemented this system in slavery and aparthied. And now the Africans is implementing the same thing through democracy. ( Different words. Same mantra: Work for the white man. Hire us). Oh, what a thing!
