Hi, I have an electric guitar and a creative labs surround system on my computer. The sound system has an aux. input so I thought I would possibly be able to plug the guitar into the aux. and the speakers would serve as an amp. I tried it and got nothing. Do I need software or a setting changed somewhere. Is it possible to do what I am hoping?

Use an amp and a distortion or overdrive pedal. It's a lot better than playing through your computer.
