Japanese are the smartest now days. But Americans are smart too.
Stop asking this type of questions, some people may feel offended.

You can find the answer to this question in the History course: americans separated from the world because of their beliefs and attitudes, so naturally they put themselves against all other nations and taught new generations that they are the best and smartest. It's like evolution, you can't blame modern americans for that - they were raised that way. There are a lot of wierd beliefs in other nations too.

We're not the only smart people in the world, but America is made up of a cross-section of people from all over the world so we represent the best & the worst that the world has to offer, including the smartest as well as the least intelligent.
But please stay away, we don't want you to bring down our average.

We should not I think that Asians are the smartest .A retired Yale professor stated that Yale would be all Asian If Yale went by grades.
