It doesn't matter what you call them; what do you put on them?
Salts & Vinegar? Tomato sauce? Something else? Nothing?

i put nothing on chips; they taste delicious on their own, i put ketchup on french fries; nothin's good without the good old ketchup! we were out of ketchup for 3 weeks and i was practically going even worse than crazy.

It depends on exactly what I am eating :)
French fries, I enjoy ketchup OR malt vinegar. I also eat them plain.
Chips (especially homemade chips) I enjoy salt & vinegar, or just salt.

French fries usually with just salt but if I get them from McDonald's then honey! Try it its good. : )

Ketchup, Tarter Sauce, BBQ sauce, and certain flavored dips. And sometimes I just eat them plain.

FRIES!!! Cheese and peppers and onions and bacon and sour cream and a hot sauce and lots of salt and ketchup! (oh...and of course....ranch dressing)

salt and ketchup to the side for dipping......
however in Canada , they have this wonderful thing called "poutine" which is fries , Mild white cheese cheese curds on top (like mozzarela), and then poutine suce (which is often gravy) on top....the hot gravy melts the cheese..sounds icky but it's great
