Maybe he was talking about how there always seems to be a "BIG" story that breaks with less than week before an election. Remember how 4 days before the 2000 election a 25 yr old story of Bush and a Maine DUI came out? How about Mary Cheney is lesbian in the final week before 2004? How about the documents that "PROVED" Bush had special treatment while in the Air National Guard 4 days before 2004 which resulted in proof of forged documents and Dan Rather leaving CBS News.

If Rove is plotting a surprise why would he announce it?

It's ok to take off the tin-foil hat. They are out of style this season

The surprise is that nuts like you are allowed to vote. Bush and Rove have been so busy preventing hurricanes and lowering the gas price that they won't have any extra time for more surprises.

The big "October surprise" that you are talking about is going to be nothing. Basically all of the democrats are waiting on their edge of their seats for this and are worried about it. They are just messing with you.

there's been some speculation that Dick Cheney will resign as VP this year to allow a new VP to be appointed who would run for President in 2008. it might be that. it might not.
