The best place to get comprehensive information on a particular company is from the Secretary of State website for the state the company is registered in. Some states have that information available on line and some don't, however.

Punch in the key words like its location, it's product, etc then look at all your options. It maybe a lot of work, but if you don't have the name, it's your only bet.

The company's website should have a lot of information.
Or you can just google the company's name.
Or you can look at http://biz.yahoo.com if it's a publicly-traded company.
