I have an exam on the book in a couple of weeks so I'm looking for a couple of pointers. I need some points of symbolic or just general significance. Also any other general tips and useful information would be great.

Can't believe you've been set this book. Ishiguro has written some fabulous books, but this is not one of them. Would guess something about identity, mystery and guilt? As these are his major themes.
