I know for a FACT, that the best cure for a hangover, is to drink a pint of water with some painkillers right before you go to bed, you'll wake up feeling fine and dandy, this was actually proved on a show, I think it was myth busters or something like that.

drink again in the morning, then carry on drinking because you really cant face that hangover. Stay drunk indefinately until you run out of money then feel the full strength of the withdrawal symptoms, til you get to the stage where you cant sleep and you are shaking with cold sweats as well, then maybe see a doctor who will advise you not to stop drinking suddenly as this is dangerous because your body goes into shock so then you buy the cheapest **** you can that makes you lose control of your bowels but thats not really a problem cos you aint been able to eat solid food for days. OR JUST DRINK SENSIBLY to avoid hangovers!

A hangover is the result of dehydration. When you drink alcoholic drinks the alcohol in your body acts as a diuretic - in other words it makes you pee more liquid out than you took in. Medically diuretics are used to cure problems involving too much fluid in the body but when you haven't got excess fluid to start with, the result is dehydration.

This is made worse by the fact that as you pee so much you may lose vital salts from your body which makes the whole thing worse. Your head feels particularly bad because your brain is particularly susceptible to the reduced blood flow that results from dehydration.

OK - the cure...
As soon as you can (eg. when you stagger home) but certainly before you go to sleep drink water or a fruit drink like orange squash. Isotonic sports drinks are also very good. You may not feel like drinking water but that's the cure. Drink at least two pints if you can. If you wake up in the night - almost inevitable if you have been drinking because you'll need a pee - then drink more water.

If you are still hungover in the morning (or forgot to drink the water like I told you!) then pints of water or orange squash are still the answer but now as you will have a raging headache, a couple of soluble aspirin dissolved in the water will help.

What you should NOT do is drink coffee - this may sober you up but it won't stop the hangover because the caffeine in coffee is also a diuretic so in fact even as you feel more sober you will be making your hangover worse!

To prevent a hangover drink a glass of water for every drink you have so if you have 4 margaritas drink 4 glasses of water. Hangovers are after effects of severe dehydration, hydrating is the best defense.

alchaol dehydrates, to help prevent hangover make sure you drink plenty of water the day before the night you drink. Know your limit. don't get so drunk that you puke or can't stand up on your own. Then not only do you look stupid you have a worse hangover.

alka seltzer. it's horrible going down, but if you can suck it up. you'll feel great! take some alka seltzer to calm the bubblies in your tummy. and take some excedrin for the headache.
also, make sure you drink LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER! all a hangover is is a dehydrated body.
after a long night of drinking, i usually drink 2 full glasses of water before i go to bed. upon doing that i've never had a bad hangover.

My remedy:

Two advils with a large glass of water before bed or right when you wake up

Sleep longer and then do a work out to sweat it out. Avoid a car ride since that tends to make me sicker.

Healthy & hearty food - orange juice (for sugar), bread (sponge effect), and some protein. Peanut butter toast works for me. No coffee, but lots of water or iced tea. You have to feed a hangover.

As a qualified P***head, i recommend 2 pints of water before bed - and some Andrews salts as well... bearing in mind you have to make whilst out of it.

When you arise in the morning, you should have some Lucozade sport in the fridge - two bottles should do it.... then go out for a good walk.... when you get back home you'll be right as reign - ready for another Sunday session in local - oh, and don't forget the roast beef dinner!

As gros as it sounds really greasy foods like McDonald's breakfast food and BK breakfast food, then drink water. You may feel like you wanna hurl it all back up , so don't go overboard with the H20 because it will come right bck up. You also need to walk around get your blood flowing. I know it really sucks, but it works. G'luck, but tip to the wise stop drinking when you get that little feeling in your gut saying I think I've had enough:) G'luck

Before going to bed. Take two Tyenol or Motrin, whatever your choice is. Then drink a good two glasses of water. Alcohol drains your body of fluid and that is why you feel awful the next day. Drink plenty of water before going to bed. Works for me, try it.
