Probably the Ancient Greeks and Trojans, they tended to use all sorts of Bone and leather articles, The boars tooth helm made famous by Homer (Achaean Armour found at Dendra) but the Romans used the Tortoise (Testudo) formation interlocking shields as protection from missiles arrows, spears and stones not RPGs etc.. But there again the Ninja turtles did Keep their shells on in combat but they are fictional.

Probably a Roman legionnaire or gladiator.
