I have never had a cellphone. I know nothing about them. Just want one for emergencies. I want to be able to be contacted wherever I am when my daughter is ing school.

T-MOBILE. You can buy minutes every where. On line, at the Dollar General, Wal Mart, Exxon etc, and they give you $50.00 worth of minutes when you activate a new phone. You can get a nice little Nokia for just $29.99 at Wal-mart or on-line. The minutes are cheap too 10 cents each...beat that!!!

Depends upon your location.
Cricket is a local regional company in Houston,Texas. They have something like unlimited minutes for $45 or something.
Metro PCS in Dallas. Unlimited minutes in the metroplex for $45.
Trac Fone is good too. Can't quote you the rates for them. But you can look them up.
If you are in major city, then look for a local or regional carrier with a quote.
But, keep in mind it is only for the area that you reside. It may NOT work for outside that area at all...

nokia track phone-- wallmarts,19,99 everday for the phone hons only) okay our next shopiing venture at wallmarts hons- the pre paid phone cards various minutes, pricess i personally like the yearly plan, buy it oounce a year(its activatedd at registers okay) you must get a hold of nokia- meaning too activate the card okay the one year plan is around 145.00 expensive yes too start with after you buy your phone which- comes with its own charger the phone is yours if you decide too go this route just run back ounce a year abd pick up your phone card hons!1 we use ours for emergencies only hoons!
