Sweetheart, America is sick with the racism. Dark women are some of the most alluring creatures God has given us. I find all women beautiful in their own way. Racism is not our only sickness however. Dark haired whites are overlooked for the blondes, BBW are not shown like skinny or slender women, not too many black super heroes, young women are perferred over more seasoned women, etc. You get my point.
Make our own movies and set our own standards.

Yes. It's sad, too, since we are all sisters. I'm a dark skinned black woman but I've always had light skinned/mixed friends and we got along just fine. Skin color issues weren't brought up ever. But, I won't sit here and lie. I had a light skinned friend (She was black and mexican) and I remember being told that the day I was absent from school, she got jumped by a bunch of dark skinned black girls. And, yes, it was because they were jealous of her. I don't think it's right to fight someone because of envy or basically something that they can't help (Which is skin color). I wish we could all end this stupid battle.

You can stop what you started.....lmao
The 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's all the blacks and whites had to do what was popular - marry inter racially.
Now you have what you have.
As far as two black parents having a bi-racial child, well, you should study biology.
Just because you are black, doesn't mean you didn't have a white parent or relative in your past and the truth also applies to whites.
I think it is hilarious when you see the surprised look on the parents face when that happens.

Hollywood is awful at portraying people. And thinking back I can't think of one dark skinned woman in a leading role of a TV show or a movie. I'm sorry society has made it that way.... Your right all woman are beautiful, we all come all shapes sizes, and colors and should have the same opportunities as everyone else.
On the other hand it could be coincidence, but I don't think so.

Excuse me, but the first group of people to approve that kind of behaviour is african-american women. I dont think all the ladies in the video clips who shake their behinds or show their breats are offended by the fact that they are treated like sex objects. So instead of complaining about racism and acceptance from white people, i beleive black women should see themselves differently first and respect all that they stand for. As for the shows with bi-racial women, just think that they are considered a minority of America too (I don't agree, but i think most people see it that way) and it's only 'politicaly correct' that they are given starring roles. All in all, before white people should change their perspective of things, African-american ladies may want to do it first.

I have seen a few startlingly beautiful dark women. Black people are a minority in this country. Men oddly enough still do look for a girl like mom, who for most Americans happens to be white.

I find it curious that blacks for the last fifty years have fought and gripped about the depiction of NO blacks in the media. Now that Blacks have great appearance in the media, and their own TV network and TV shows, you are asking why the media accept only light skinned Blacks. I have seen many Black women on the media and I have not noticed that there was a difference in the shade of Black. So how Black does Black have to be so that you and other Blacks will be satisfied that Blacks are depicted up to your standards. Now you may be right in your question and it maybe right on the money. It took over 20 years for Blacks to get on the media coverage that they have now. So it just may take another 20 years to get the right Shade of Black in the media to make you happy and comfortable with your shade of Black. I never knew there was a difference of Blacks. But that is because I am not Black. It is very curious how you Blacks perceive their different shades of Black. Very curious.

Maybe the producers really think the light skinned black girls are prettier.
