Hi just started an MA in HR Management. Finding it really tough as I have no previous HR or business experience. Has anyone ever been in that situtation? How did you handle it?

I started my MS in HR when i had not worked in it before. It is mostly book learning, and then an internship. You have to have the foundational knowledge to work in the field.

That said...an MA in HR is unusual...unless you are focusing on training and development. If that is your area, then my answer would be slightly different.

contact the CIPD they will give you info, failing that go and see if you can get into an HR role, even at a basic level, it will give you great insight....

It may not be for you, but at least you would know before committing time money and effort for something that will not fore fill you.

I would think embarking on a MASTER of Arts in a field you have absolutely no experience in, or even remotely close to would be a very bad position to be in. I can't imagine someone making such a silly decision.

What attracted you to the course initially and what other qualifications did you have before you were accepted?
