To me a sleep over is when 1 or 2 friends sleep over at your house or vice versa. A slumber party would be more like a birthday party with 5 or more friends who sleep over. That is how i interpret the two.

A slumber party is a group of friends who plan the night over to have fun and do things. A sleepover, you just sleep over.

A sleep over is to just visit a friend's house and stay over night and a slumber party is usually a birthday party or another holiday with a party that you sleep over afterwords.

Sleep over would be one or two guests and you'd play like you'd play during the day. Slumber parties are where there are three or more guests and everyone makes out with each other and does some pretty lesbian stuff...

they're not "different" sleep-over and slumber party are just two different names for it, like, tomato and tomato, potato and potato, caramel and caramel. that sort of thing, so just call it what you want, either way they both have the same meaning.
