I think it may have been. What's your opinion?

Even though he is a "good" player he receives mostly negative publicity. Playing the "depressed victim" could get him some sympathy and positive publicity.

I do NOT think it was a stunk. I recently watched the TO story on ESPN when they talked about him growing up and taken care of by his grandmother (who now has altimers and doen't realize TO is a big star) Which really bothers TO. This guy has never had any friends. He is constantly being slammed by the media. I would not doubt it if he started to take a bunch of pills to get more attention from the people around him. But he did not want this to go public. Everyone probably thinks that because he is a superstar that he is on top of the world. My guess is that he want those closest to him to know that he is feeling depressed.

Who cares...he loves the spotlight and will you change your life if it turns out to be a stunt or for real.

I would be willing to bet that a random pole would show that no one care about TO...if this had been a high profile player who is muched liked and doesn't want to hog the headlines (ie. Warick Dunn) then different story, but we are talking about TO...

I am not trying to be mean, just realistic...all the crap and stunts he pulled makes him sound like he will become the boy who cried wolf.

He says that it wasn't a suicide attempt, that's just what the police are calling it.

Why would he want that kind of publicity anyway? Not all publicity is good publicity, why would he want the world to identify him as "that loony football player"?

why would a star WR need publicity? He is either good and gets it, or he's not, and fades away. Right now, he is good. So, no, I don't think it was for publicity. I think the dude is depressed because everybody gets on him.

With HIM.....who the H*** knows! It was probably something close to that. I just want to know if he can play on Sunday! But I sure do think that Jerry wasted a chunk of change on that guy!

Not a suicide attempt. I don't think this is a man who in any way suffers from low self esteem!

Could have been steroid abuse.

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Too much testosterone can kill brain cells, researchers said on Tuesday in a finding that may help explain why steroid abuse can cause behavior changes like aggressiveness and suicidal tendencies." (from link)

I believe it was true and they are trying to cover it up. The police report does not lie.
