Because they would be subject to the law of that land and would have to stand trial. This way they can hold them indefinetley!

You ask a "loaded" question, which implies your bias and suggests you already have the answer you are willing to absorb.
Still, I offer this. No other facility can offer the degree of security that Gitmo offers. It is far enough away from the conflict that "rescue" of the prisoners is remote, at best. It is also close enough to the US mainland for easy access by the interregators.

because it has become a legends, and the u.s. likes legends, and it is popular with tourists bla bla bla. You could say, why did Enland not imprision all the people they sent to Austrailia to imprison....its forever, governments do what they want. So do we. but when they find out, WE get locked up in THIER little idea of control. I could spend hours on this, but if you do not know by now. sorry.

Because in Cuba they can be held as war criminals but once they touch the US main land they are protected under UN and US laws. In other words so Bush can torture them

Why should we? What does it matter where they are on the Island or here in the states? The red cross and every other organization has been there to check out the conditions and there are no complaints. What is the big deal? Actually I prefer those ba$tards not be on my soil.
