I have been TTC for over a year and a half with no luck. Doctor is FINALLY doing something about it. He has ordered a laparoscopy to make sure I don't have endometriosis, or PID, and don't have anything blocking my tubes.. has anyone had this? Anything good come of it? Please help?

I'm not in Pain, besides right before my period.. my periods are normal.. every 28-29 days... he just wants to make sure that I don't have scar tissue or anything like that.

I had this procedure done 10 years ago, so I'm sure it's even more refined these days. After my lap, we conceived the very next month. We had been trying for almost 2 years.

I have had two laparoscopys one to get my tubes tied rather quick recovery nothing to worry about. The next one I had done was for the similar reasons you are..pain and endo possibly?? It was Aug 22 06
Here is the only thing you should be scared of...they fill your belly up with gas and when it is over the gas rolls into your shoulder area and it is very uncomfortable and painful.. It can last from 8 hours to 4 days.
This time the shoulder pain lasted me 4 days the first time only 4 or 5 hours but I breastfed so that probably helped. Nevertheless, This is rare but I got a huge bruise around my belly button and it lasted for 4 weeks before it healed.. The doctor said this was highly unusual and was very concerned.
The normal average woman should feel some dicomfort for roughly 24 hours like menstrual cramps and the should discomfort and heal rather quickly.. I am now squeduled for a hysterectomy because of what they found so it is worth it to go through that pain I did because now I can finally feel better!!
So try not to be to worried...

LAPAROSCOPY ISNT THAT BAD... BACK IN 1998 I HAD A REALLY BAD TIME WITH THE FEMALE THING.. SO I WENT TO MY OBGYN AND HE EXAMINED ME AND HE SAID HE FELT SOMETHING ON MY RIGHT OVARY. SO I HAD TO HAVE AN ULTRA SOUND DONE AND I HAD A SIST THAT WAS 4 centimeters big.. he scheduled a laparoscopy to be done.. THE DAY BEFORE MY SURGERY I WOKE UP CRYIN AND HURTIN AND I STILL WENT TO WORK THAT MORNING HURTIN BUT I HAD TO WORK CAUSE I KNEW I WOULD BE OFF FOR THE LAP TO BE DONE..
WELL the next day was my surgery date so i went and he did the lap and he told me my sist had already ruptured so he cleaned that with the lap and he did find ENDOMETRIOSIS WHEN HE WAS DOING MY SURGERY..
I ended up having to have a complete HYSTERECTOMY . CAUSE IT WAS SPREADING TO MY LEFT OVARY TOO and the endometriosis was getting more painful then i could bare so.
but the lap is going to make u sore but it will not leave a big scare, infact i cant even tell where he done my lap at.
but now i feel a whole lot better, and you will too as soon as it is over with and u know what the problem is that is causing your pain.. And then you can go from there to see what else needs to be done to get you in recovery... You will be back up on your feet in no time and feeling more like your self....

This should have been done at around the 6 month mark.
It good they are finally doing it. It's the best way to see
if there are any problems. Good luck.
