I just read an article where the baby was born mid-flight. The birth certificate lists the place of birth as the terminal where the plane landed at the end of the trip. I'm not sure if that's standard procedure though.

If a baby is born out of the country to parents who are both citizens of the us. The child is automotacilly a us citizen but will have the right to obtain citizenship at the country of birth.

A lady in one of my childbirth classes had a baby on the way to the hospital and the birth certificate said "en route." I would expect that it would say "en route" to England.
