That's a million + yearly. If you see who is getting the abortions and why, I don't see how Republicans can think that having all of those extra people each year would be a good thing since they seem to have no intention of helping them or ensuring they are taken care of.
Are they hoping that those million will be put up for adoption? Either way, how will our government deal with the million extra orphan children each year?

Lord, I get tired of this same old argument. You realize what you are saying is "let's just keep killing since we have no where to put everyone" Tired old rhetoric. Useless argument. In order to effectively argue your pro abortion stance, you need to be able to argue the pro life stance. Obviously it is something you choose to remain ignorant about. How can you stand for something when you don't even understand the other side? And I don't mean the crazies who kill the doctors or blow up clinics because that is SO WRONG. But seriously, you need to understand what you are saying and I'm sorry you don't.
Shouldn't the focus be on preventing unwanted pregnancies so this whole abortion issue would become a moot point? Why not focus your energy on that!
And enough with your statistics! You need facts. When my biological family found me I have two full blooded older sisters. The younger of the two married very well off. She had two little girls and found out she was pregnant for the third time. SHE HAD AN ABORTION because they didn't want anymore kids. SHE WAS MARRIED, LIVING IN A MILLION DOLLAR HOUSE SO HER ABORTION WAS CONVENIENCE! So stop spouting the false and made up statistics that abortions are only young poor girls. Get a clue!!!!!!!

I don't think it is just the REPUBLICANS. I am demcratic and still feel unless you have a god reason for mot using a condom then you need to deal with what consequence you desirve. If you can not support a child then use protection. If you used and got pregnant anyway then put it up for adoption. There are alot of good parents out there that can not have babys. The average abortion clinic will allow abortions up to 16 weeks and at 10 weeks the brain of a fetus starts to run. This means that the baby can think, hear, and see things from the inside. Everyone will always have different opinions about this topic. But whatever.

Abortion is not right. Lets just kill people so that we don't have to pay for them. In that case lets kill off people that are already here . Who should we start with ? The poor, c'mon lets go get some nines and start blasting or AK 47s that will kill em faster more cost effective. Yes the insurance and health care in this country is ****** up. We all pay in and only some people get benefits. Its not the immigrants there's only 11 million of them and 300 million of us native born. C'mon that is a scapegoat for the country's problems. Its fat cats pocketing money that is the problem. The whole system is ****** up its never fair and never will be. For the person who said why don't they make people on welfare get jobs, you've never known anyone on welfare I take it or haven't experienced enough of the world. They do make these people work. Its called Welfare to work. These people are chosen for jobs first over other people.

Well, Gee, since a life is a life is a life, why don't we just abort yours and other people like you who inconvenience the rest of us? I mean, that's really what it all comes down to, isn't it? That little baby would be an inconvenience to you?
If abortion were suddenly illegal, many hundreds of thousands of women would no longer get them -- sure, there would be some trekking to Mexico or whereever they could get them, but most women would then take birth control a lot more seriously, and so would men.
Furthermore, since 1973, when abortion was legalized under the false premise of a right to privacy, 50 million Americans have been put to death. That's 50 million Americans who would be paying taxes, paying into social security, contributing to society, adding to the global economy and any number of other civic duties that now falls extra hard to the rest of us. And please don't toss the red herring of insurance into the mix.
If you are really sitting there saying that you are having abortions for the good of the country, please move somewhere else. That's got to be one of the DUMBEST things I've ever heard.

Republicans favor giving the minimum aid possible to social causes, like orphanages or running child support programs or adoption agencies. So if a woman is forced to carry a child to term then SHE will be held responsible for prenatal care, the costs of the birth and the costs to raise the child. Since most unwed mothers are already poor they will only get poorer and raise their child in squalor. They will be uninterested in prenatal care, maybe even unable to provide it (drug addicts). Most of them will not be able to support their health care costs so it will be another drain on our few social health care plans. With a massive influx of babies created by a law repealing abortion the public health care system may collapse. The Republicans won’t take the time to try and shore up the system, they will do what was done in New Orleans; wait for the system to collapse, leave it in ruin for a few years while making mismanaged and poor attempts to repair it.
You point on orphanages is an excellent one. The adoption program in the US is so hard to qualify for and the process itself is so hard to complete that couples are willing to go as far as China to get babies. So the majority of the children will not be adopted and will have to be raised in orphanages, there just won’t be enough foster families to support them. Worse yet they will end up the hands of the Child Protective Services, an agency that is cruel and full of abuses. They take the children from families and put them into other families where they really aren't wanted. I saw a news story last night, on the local news, where a baby was taken away from her family because she was abused. She was neglected, kept in a closet and when found she was covered by lice. So she was put into a foster family and 5 years later she was found to have been sexually abused. This is a common practice in Child Protective Services. Some of their foster families are good-hearted people who want to help. But, a large percentage are not. Some families use the foster service to support themselves, taking the money that is supposed to go to the care of the children and using it on themselves. Others are child abusers and child molesters. Or as in the case above they provided poor supervision and allowed a family relative to sexually abuse the child.
I think that abortion is murder, plain and simple, but I support it because the results of not having the abortion option are so bad.

Send the illegal immigrants home and we will have room for our own people. And not everyone who's child is the result of an unplanned pregnancy will give it up or is too poor to feed it. If you don't want a baby then don't get pregnant! Enough with the convenience abortions! When are we gonna start killing inconvenient grandparents? There is nothing wrong with adoption either, except for self important people who don't have time to be pregnant. I wonder if it has occurred to some of these women that later they will be praying for someone to give them a baby, not KILL it!

There are tons of people waiting to adopt children.
We would have enough people here to fill the open jobs and we would not have to import so much stuff from China, we would not need illegal immigrants, (Our tax $ are supporting them already)
And finally, our workforce is shrinking so fast that by the time we reach retirement, there will only be 1.7 workers paying into Social Security for ever person drawing out.
I am not a Republican, or Democrat, but Killing innocent babies for convenience, or money makes me sick.
We have no population explosion to keep in check.

What in the name of all that is holy is this belief that people are entitled to free health Insurance? I personally don't want my taxes to go up any higher than they are now. Who are you, that you think I should lower my standard of living to provide you with health insurance? A government program would be inefficient and cumbersome and would degrade our quality of health care to those of other countries, and we would be paying through the nose for it. So buy your own health insurance. In regards to abortions, have you thought that maybe a good solutions would be to use birth control? Why not prevent the pregnancy altogether? Or how about abstaining at least until your 13. We have a generation of ignorant whores who feel it is a badge of honor to get knocked up. Why should I pay for that?

I think everyone would lend a helping hand. I was adopted when I was very young, so I think theres plenty of love to go around. Abortion is barbaric and should be banned. There are so many ways to prevent pregnancy nowadays(Pills, patches, contraception, day after pills, abstinence)
