is there anyone out there who has changed from retail into something new? anyone got any suggestions? it just seems people wont give the opportunity? or anyone wanna offer me a job? lol

Congratulations on realizing you need a change. People working today can expect to have over four careers in their lifetime... it's nothing like the old days. Consider going to a local college (or perhaps your alma meter) and using those Career Services which are free or low cost. You'll be able to take inventory tests for a low fee which will help you focus on where your new career should be. Do your homework, and talk to those already in that new career... you'll find great insights by doing that and realize soon whether it's something you want to pursue.

Nickos, I was a retail manager for 8 years and switched to working from home. If you are serious about wanting to change and you have definitely income and personal goals that you want to achieve, I am willing to assist you in a transition to working for yourself. You must be trainable and have a strong desire to achieve your goals. My company has been in business for 6 years. I was able to leave my retail "JOB" after 3 months and now I'm living the life I desire and creating my own opportunities. I don't wait for others to provide them for me. Have you thought about the Police? or if that's not your cup of tea, what about a career in IT? There is plenty of training you can do at home, and whilst you might have to start at the bottom, the long term career opportunities are fantastic!

If you live in SoCal and are good at computers i can get you a job where i work! i work for the VA hospital as a Help Desk Analyst. Basically helping doctors and other such with their computer problems over the phone! it pays good!
