I love stuffing bags. We get less and less kids every year. They all go to the Malls now.

I don't celebrate Halloween, but I get a big bag of chocolate for the kids (and the adults- haha) anyway.
One year, I let everyone pick out their favorite, but when you shop at club stores like we do, that's a lot of candy and money!
One giant variety bag works out great!

Mini chocolate bars, gum or lollipops. All are good, but I say you should give what you would want to get and for me (ummm I should say my kids) it is chocolate. If you mix candies as I usually do, then I give one of each to each child. Not in a bag either, I just put it all in a large bowl and distribute it from there. Never give homemade goodies because cautious parents won't allow their children to eat it (I wouldn't). I don't try to give stuff that is too healthy either, this is a special day for kids and they don't want stuff their moms make them eat all the time in place of candy. They want real goodies!

I don't get that many kids any more, so I usually give out quarters.
Mom's happy about the no candy/sugar and the kids like the change rattling in the bags/pumpkins.

I decorate little bags with about 3-4 different candies and a cute treat.

We buy one of those big mixed bags of candy, with the assorted candy bars, and then throw in smarties and tootsie pops. We give out individually wrapped treats, and just let the kids grab a couple.

My family gives out Soda, and we decorate the house up a lot. It is our favorite holiday (no we aren't freaks). My house is definitely the most visited in the neighborhood. Don't forget to make the kids do a trick for the treat. We've had kids actually rehearse things for us because they knew it was coming. You will see some funny stuff.

In Florida we give less chocolate because they are a melty mess by the time they get home because of the heat. I usually get smaller sized items and give a small handful of a few different items. If a child is especially polite I throw in a few extra pieces and compliment them to their parents.

We always buy a bag of those multi colored spider rings, some wax lips, and snickers (my favorite).. we used to give them out in lil baggies but last yr we just grabbed a handful and threw it in the kids' bags.

Ice cubes....I hold the bowl up high and make sure they don't see what i'm dropping in.... they just hear the heavy "PLUNK" in their bag....It doesn't work as well now as it did when the kids would use paper bags, but they still get a puddle of water in the bottom. That's just mean ain't it? =0)
