There have always been terrorists. What we call terrorists used to be called names like "bandits", "pirates" and the "barbarian horde". The names have changed, and so have the available weapons, but the threat has always been there.

There will always be terrorists and criminals. At least as long as there is hatred and fear in the world. Living in terror and panic, sacrificing our liberties to cower like rabbits, surrendering the freedoms this country was founded on in the name of security -- these will not make the threat go away.

The threat is never going to go away. The only thing we can control is how we choose to live in response to it.

For all those countries who use terrorism against others and they know just how much they do terrorize others and this is their way of controlling those they have decided to hate for whatever evil reason, they will NEVER stop terrorizing anyone at all.
Terrorizing will only get worse and more often now that these evil people have gone this far and more or less have won too so why would they ever want to give it up?
It's those who terrorize others that were born heartless and without any shame too. If any of they had a heart for humanity they wouldn't be terrorists at all but would be human beings but as it is they are not human beings. Human beings don't kill other human beings for their beliefs in whatever religion because NO RELIGION preaches murder no matter what anyone says either. Murderers will NEVER SEE GOD, NEVER and for those who believe they will are among the most stupid, hateful creatures on this planet and I believe that I'm not alone in this thinking either.
Evil deserves the path to hell and that's where they all are heading once they pass this life.
The only way for terrorism to stop is for all the terrorists to either change their ways or for them all to just die other wise it's here to say and God save all the innocents and welcome the innocents into heaven.

Stop? No. The United States pulling out wont do it. Even if the United States is reduced to rubble, terrorism will not stop. Someone always wants something.

Reduced? Yes. Eventually, it will slow down- unless terrorists have come into a limitless supply of people, money, guns, and ammo...It's simply a matter of economics- they dont have the money to sustain a significant amount of bombings all around the world. They may shift tactics to larger scales with less frequency, but technically, that's a reduction.

Someone outside the middle east could come up with an alternative energy source that would drive the price of oil so low there wouldn't be a glut of money going to the middle east. Money gets tight there and there's no funds for terrorism.

That OR the world could wake up and realise terrorists cannot be tolerated in civilized societies and actually do something about squelching terrorism instead of just paying lip service.

I don't believe that you do not see that it has come full circle, the English was our enemy and we were the nasty bad guy that used violations of war behavior and conduct to destroy the way war were won. we did bad thing to the ranks of war fare. we used gorilla fighting and hit and run was how we messed up the way that was a tradition to war fare. we are now the victims of the very thing that was used to get our from from England. because that is true historical way that America is perceived i often wonder if the English had won and we didn't use terrorism tactic to win the war would it have been so bad to have remained Tied to the English rather than becoming a object of contempt as the sole remaining super power giant to be pondered by the wannabees

Terrorism will take decades to actually get "cut way down." Enlightened statesmen and women are needed to pave the way to sedulous human rights advancement. This will make the picture of civilization more agreeable and coherent and friendly - contrasting it with the terrorists' ways and agendas. Only after decades of sedulous furtherance of human rights will public opinion in Muslim countries (collectively referred to as "the Arab Street") begin to change, and support for terrorism abate. Terrorism will last as long as its popularity in the world's Muslim communities lasts.

Success in Iraq will destroy terrorism and radical Islam as we know it. That is why success in Iraq is critical. People will not blow themselves up if life is worth living. That is why the terrorists do not want Iraq to succeed. How can the Imams expect women to cover themselves from head to toe if in the neighboring country young women are in jeans partying at a night club? The domino effect is real and the terrorists know it. American culture is contagious.

The only way to stop "terrorism" is to redefine its meaning! "Stopping" terrorism is a bit like "stopping crime", it cannot be done without bring society & freedom to a complete halt; the only effective way to prevent all crime is to lock everybody up. The only way to prevent individuals from resorting to terrorism is to address the injustices they perceive.

But that doesn't mean we shouldn't try...

No. Just like in the book : 1984, the Government always needs some kind of enemy to give some kind of reason for taking civil rights away from their people. This will be a never ending story. There will always be "someone" out there to fight.

Terrorism will never go away. A person breaking into your home is an act of terror. Crime is an act of Terror, and it will never go away. All we are able to do is protect ourselves.
