The flights from Europe are generally overnight and are a dinner-bed-and-breakfast away. Flights between London and Johannesburg about 11 hours. So it depends on where your flying from.
Have a nice holiday!

Strangely enough when I fly direct from Heathrow, about 11 hours.
When I fly via Heathrow, connecting in Europe 10 hours.
Why the connection is shorter I don't know, but in my experience it is.

It depends on where in the UK you are going. I used to fly from JHB into Manchester via Dubai. And that was about 16 hours.

It takes 11 hours. If you plan to go there please read the warning issued to travellers by the British Foreign Office regarding the issue of violent crime and safety precautions to take. You may also wish to consult the report of the Norwich Union concerning their claims rate regarding theft which starts when you arrive and your luggage is cleared. Be careful!

Don't worry about how long it is going to take you to get here. Start worrying about you are going to get yourself to go away from the most beautiful country once your business / holiday here is completed.
