perhaps - how did they test the alternator with the vehicle not running ? did they remove it from the vehicle and bench test it ???
1. make sure all your fuses are good.
** DO YOU HEAR THE FUEL PUMP PRIME THE VEHICLE WHEN YOU TURN ON THE IGNITION ??? IF NOT CONTINUE BELOW **
2. get yourself (if you gonna do this) test light , go to where the gas tank is near the REAR frame rail - the wires to the pump are there - its a 4 wire connector , 1 wire is ground 2 wires are for the fuel level and 1 is the power to the pump DO NOT connect to the small thin wires THOSE are for the level sensor you will screw them up if you use the test light on them.
Once at the correct wire - have someone in the vehicle trying to start it , you will have power to the wire while the crank the car over IF it lights up and you don't hear the pump its the PUMP replace Pump and Filter.
** If you do hear the fule pump come on FOLLOW STEPS below **
You will need to verify that you are getting spark, get yourself a spark tester from your local auto parts store , remove a spark plug boot off the spark plug end.....have someone crank the car while you watch for spark - if no spark most likely ignition module.
Also this truck i think comes with a ANTI_THEFT key module those are known to be bad - you will then need to remove the Ignition Lock Cylinder from the steering columm and see if the 2 little wires ( Orange and White ) are cut - if they are then you will need to replace the lock cylinder - BTW you can see if it is working by removeing the lower steering pannel and finding the small 22ga Orange and White wire - use a test light to see if you have power on either end while you are cranking the vehicle if not that is your problem...
Good Luck

Make sure that your not overpowering your alternator, ie. lights, radio equiptment.
Check the tension on your alternator belt. It will make a difference. Especially if its not a new battery.
Dont assume that all your connections are good in a fourteen year old truck.
If your battery post are corroded or not tight,
a dead cell,
a loose connection on your starter,
a bad cigarett lighter or radio power cord, grounding to the eletric system.
It's easy, not to notice the tiny drains on you electric system that dont effect your guages or idiot lights.
My son installed a sterio with a hig-powered amplifier into his 1989 General Motors product. When he would turn it on, lights would flicker, gauges would change, and the battery would drain, but it wouldn't cause the idiot lights to come on. He had to buy a heavier alternator.

does the engine turn over? If not you may have excessive fuel in a cylinder locking the motor.Cause? Bad fuel injector.
If it turns over check to see if it's getting spark, If it is check and see if it's getting fuel. There is usually a Schrader valve" Looks like a valve stem for a tire on the fuel rail going to your injectors. Turn the key on and depress the shrader valve like you were tring to let air out of it. If fuel squirts out under pressure then it's getting fuel. Find out which of these it's not getting and I can tell you where to go from there

possibly the neutral saftey switch?bad ground wire?ignition switch?since you are pulling starters,i assume the engine ain't turning at all.if it ain't turning then an ignition module won't do you any good.
